COMP CANCELATIONS
A comp will be cancelled if at the Govt forecast updated at 4.30am on the day of the comp is for a strong wind warning or a forecasted swell height of 4m or over.
If the forecast looks shitty a comp can still go ahead if we get a minimum of 5 boats at the ramp before start time, there is no strong wind warning and the swell forecast is under 4m. Fishing in shitty weather is no fun so on these days it's best to meet up at ramp before start time and talk between members if they want to hold or put the comp off to the following Sunday.
Thanks Jason...

cancellation of comp
i thought the weigh master of the club gave the go ahead for a comp to be called off or one to go a head ( apart from a strong wind warning of course). maybe the club should get some form of messaging system that people could ring at a particular time, not everyone has acess to a computer if they are out socialising. a cheap mobile with a message on it would be one way, all that the weigh master needs to do is leave a message on it then switch it off.

Re: COMP CANCELATIONS
The 4m swell height rule was voted on a little while back, You don't need a computer just a phone to call the weather report updated at 4.30am. If it's a strong wind warning or a forecasted swell height 4m or over you can go back to bed. Tim can comment further but I think these two weather situations are the only time Tim can cancel a comp??? This is the govt forecast only don't use the seabreeze or Bouyweather graph etc etc. We decided on not canceling the night before as weather situation can change overnight.
